Data Steward for Enterprise Data, Etac, Stockholm

Etac is implementing a data strategy that brings together people from various brands, business functions, and technical teams to align on data-related matters. The aim is to establish standardized processes, terminologies, data models and technology to bring consistency on how we interpret and use data. The primary focus right now, is to build an organization-wide Data Governance Framework. This will be followed by a Master Data Management project.

About the role:

The Data Steward role will be responsible for ensuring data quality, integrity, and availability at Etac. It is a critical role in data governance and strategy implementation. Collaborating with stakeholders, the Data Steward defines standards, policies, and procedures while also working with technical teams to implement what is decided. Raising awareness is vital for success, so the Data Steward provides expertise, support, and guidance.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• You assist in setup of a data governance framework and a way of working that includes a group of identified stakeholders from different business functions/brands with defined roles.
• You ensure that this group work together in a structured way to create and implement policies, and procedures that guarantee compliance, consistency, quality, and data security.
• You ensure that the quality of data & metadata is maintained and is up to date,
• Data Governance – Maintaining Etac’s business glossary and metadata related to various data sources, updating business terminologies and relationships. Defining related policies, processes etc.
• Master Data Management – Maintaining master data at various levels (i.e. domain, entity, attribute etc) through source data merge rules, data quality rules and related workflows etc.

These should be achieved by assigning responsibilities to data owners or data governance group members through defined workflows.

• You conduct training sessions, workshops, and awareness programs to promote data literacy, best practices, and data governance principles across the organization. This includes grooming data owners from different business functions within the organization, as necessary.
• You contribute to the development and implementation of the company’s data strategy, data architecture, and data management roadmap.
• You work closely with technical teams e.g. data engineers who help develop or configure technical tools or solutions to enforce set policies and processes.
• You work closely with group security and privacy officer to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, implement data access controls, and protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or breaches.
• You work as a member of the group IT architecture organization, focused on designing, architecting, and promoting strategic IT systems and services used in various business processes throughout the organization.

Is this you?

To be successful in this position we see that you have at least 3 years of experience working as a Data Steward or in a similar position, bringing and understanding of data governance principles, data management practices, and data quality assurance. Moreover, we see that you are familiar with regulations pertaining to data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), healthcare ( HIPPA, FDA). If you have experience in assuring compliance regarding these regulations, we see that as a big plus. Since this position encompasses many points of contacts as well as the element of educating stakeholders, we see that you as a person is communicative, pedagogical and have the ability to convey complex information in a simple way.
