Portfolio Manager to atNorth, Stockholm/Copenhagen/Helsinki/ Oslo

Do you excel at bringing structure, pace and transparency to complex portfolios? Can you challenge senior stakeholders, prioritise competing initiatives and turn strategy into measurable outcomes without adding unnecessary bureaucracy?

atNorth is looking for a Portfolio Manager to help build the way its Development organisation works and scales.

This newly created role offers the opportunity to shape portfolio governance in a growing Nordic data center business. With more than 100 improvement and transformation initiatives already identified, you will help connect strategic priorities with practical execution across functions and markets.

The Role

As Portfolio Manager within Development Strategy & Transformation, you will establish one coherent overview of centrally managed programmes and initiatives delivered in our organisation. You will coordinate intake, prioritisation, reporting and governance, ensuring that dependencies, resource constraints, risks, decisions and realised benefits are visible and acted upon.

You will report to our Head of Development Strategy & Transformation, and work closely with the Strategy Manager, programme managers, business owners and Development leadership.

The role can be based in the Nordics, including Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo or Helsinki.

You will own portfolio visibility and the way the portfolio is governed, not the delivery of individual projects. Programme managers and business owners remain accountable for implementation. Your impact lies in helping leaders make better decisions, challenge priorities and create momentum across the entire portfolio.

Your key responsibilities as Portfolio Manager:

  • Build and maintain a clear portfolio register, pipeline and visual management of ongoing, proposed, blocked and completed initiatives across Development.
  • Coordinate the intake and assessment of new initiatives, prepare prioritisation recommendations and highlight cross-portfolio capacity needs and dependencies.
  • Facilitate regular programme working reviews and monthly portfolio reviews, providing concise, decision-ready reporting to Development leadership.
  • Challenge programme managers and business owners on progress, outcomes, risks, timing and resource assumptions, and follow up decisions and actions to closure.
  • Connect initiative progress to Development OKRs, KPIs, capability development and benefits realisation, including actions linked to expansion strategy.
  • Introduce lightweight, fit-for-purpose agile ways of working, portfolio Kanban, practical templates and effective cross-functional workshops – focusing on early value rather than heavy process.

You will operate across functions and Nordic markets.

atNorth offers a growing international environment where you can make a tangible difference from the outset.

You will shape governance rather than inherit a finished framework, work closely with senior leaders and have the freedom to apply the best methods to the needs of a scaling business.

Is this you?

You are a structured, pragmatic and credible portfolio professional who combines strategic perspective with an instinct for execution. You can create clarity from complexity, build trust across functions and challenge leaders constructively.

Your qualifications include:

  • At least eight years of relevant experience in portfolio or programme management, transformation, strategy execution or complex cross-functional delivery.
  • Proven experience with portfolio governance, prioritisation, dependencies, capacity management and tracking measurable outcomes and benefits.
  • Practical knowledge of agile or hybrid approaches and visual portfolio management, with the judgement to keep methods light and proportionate.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and executive-level communication, including the confidence to challenge senior decision makers.
  • A university degree in Business, Engineering, Construction, Project Management or a related discipline, and professional English.
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 skills and the ability to translate initiatives into clear reporting linked to OKRs or similar frameworks.

Experience in data centers, infrastructure, engineering, construction or other capital-intensive environments is an advantage. Experience adapting agile practices such as SAFe from larger organisations to growing businesses, additional Nordic languages and relevant certifications are also valued.
