About the Role

As Senior Technical Lead – Electrical, you will act as atNorth's leading technical authority within electrical engineering, with a particular focus on low-voltage infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring technical quality, reviewing and approving engineering solutions and contributing to the long-term development of electrical systems across the company's data centres.

The role combines technical expertise with strategic development and innovation. You will work with existing engineering standards and reference designs while identifying opportunities to improve current solutions and evaluate new technologies for future data centre developments.

You will work in the Design & Engineering team within Development. An important part of the role involves collaborating with site Operations teams, understanding their technical challenges and incorporating relevant operational feedback into future engineering solutions.

You will join a central Engineering team consisting of experienced technical specialists across different disciplines and report to Head of Engineering. The position does not include direct personnel management responsibilities.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the senior technical authority for electrical engineering, with particular focus on low-voltage systems and critical power infrastructure.
  • Review and approve electrical engineering designs, calculations, technical specifications and engineering standards.
  • Lead technical design reviews and ensure that new developments comply with atNorth's engineering requirements and reference designs.
  • Develop and improve electrical engineering standards, technical strategies and reference designs across the Nordic data centre portfolio.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and initiate technical innovation projects to improve future electrical infrastructure.
  • Support commissioning, technical handovers and engineering assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with site Operations teams to evaluate technical feedback, investigate complex electrical issues and identify improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and share expertise with internal stakeholders, consultants and other engineering specialists.

Is This You?

We are looking for a senior electrical engineering professional with extensive experience in mission-critical infrastructure and a strong technical background in the data centre industry.

You have a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline and approximately ten years or more of relevant professional experience. Previous experience with data centre electrical infrastructure is essential, whether gained through an engineering consultancy, contractor or data centre operator.

You have strong expertise in low-voltage electrical systems and critical power infrastructure, including UPS systems, generators, batteries, electrical protection systems and associated controls. You are experienced in reviewing technical designs and specifications and have the technical confidence to evaluate complex engineering solutions and make independent decisions.

Experience from an engineering consultancy is favorable, as the role requires close collaboration with different stakeholders and the ability to provide technical advice, receive feedback and explain engineering decisions. Experience from other mission-critical industries, such as energy or oil and gas, is also valuable when combined with relevant data centre experience.

You communicate fluently in English and are comfortable working in an international environment. Knowledge in a Nordic language is preferred but not required.

We place great emphasis on personal characteristics. You are confident in your technical expertise while remaining humble, approachable and receptive to feedback. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues from different technical backgrounds and are comfortable having your decisions challenged. You work in a structured and analytical manner, can prioritise between competing technical requirements and have a genuine interest in innovation and the future development of data centre infrastructure.

What We Offer

At atNorth, you will join a growing Nordic data centre organisation where you will have significant influence over technical decisions and the future development of electrical infrastructure.

The role offers the opportunity to work across multiple data centre facilities, collaborate with experienced technical specialists and contribute to both existing operations and new developments. You will have the freedom to challenge established solutions, explore new technologies and help shape the company's long-term electrical engineering strategy.

You will be part of a collaborative engineering environment characterised by experienced colleagues, individual responsibility and relatively short decision-making processes. The position offers the opportunity to act as a senior technical authority and make a direct contribution to atNorth's continued development.
