Data Center Technician – Fire Systems CBRE, Linköping

Would you like to develop your technical skills in an environment where safety and reliable operation matter every day?

Join CBRE in Linköping as a Data Center Technician with a focus on fire protection systems, working fixed daytime hours with no on-call duties.

The Role

You will support the operation and maintenance of a large data centre, with a focus on industrial fire protection, primarily gas-based fire suppression systems. The role also covers mechanical systems and general building maintenance. You will join an established team that is expanding following the addition of a data hall.

You will work alongside technicians and specialist contractors, with daily coordination from the Technical Team Leader. The site serves a telecommunications-sector client, and your work will contribute to safe, reliable operations across the facility, your tasks will include:

  • Support inspections and maintenance of fire protection and mechanical systems.
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance, readings and practical fault-finding.
  • Monitor Building Management System (BMS) alarms and investigate technical issues.
  • Coordinate specialist contractors and document inspections and completed work.
  • Follow safety procedures and recognise when specialist competence or authorisation is required.

This is a full-time, on-site role in Linköping. Working hours are 07:00–16:00, with no shift work and no on-call duties.

CBRE offers varied technical work at one site, structured onboarding, safety training and support from experienced colleagues. Relevant specialist training can be provided in line with site needs

Is this you?

You have relevant technical training, an apprenticeship or equivalent practical competence, together with around 1–2 years of hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting experience. More experienced technicians are also welcome.

Experience with industrial fire protection, particularly gas-based suppression systems, is an advantage, alongside mechanical maintenance, inspections or coordination of specialist contractors.

Previous data centre or industrial plant experience is an advantage. You do not need to be a fully developed fire protection specialist: relevant specialist skills can be developed through training and experience on site.

You need working English to understand instructions and communicate with colleagues and contractors; Swedish is an advantage. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, are required.

Your personal qualities matter. You are practical, curious and reliable, take safety seriously and follow through on your tasks. You enjoy sharing knowledge and are willing to work across disciplines. You know when to ask for support and keep clear records of your work.

Employment is subject to successful client site security screening. You will receive information about this during the recruitment process.
