Data Center Technician – Cooling
CBRE, Linköping
Do you enjoy finding out how technical systems work and keeping them running reliably?
Join CBRE in Linköping and develop your skills in process cooling at a large data centre, with fixed daytime hours and no on-call duties.
The Role
As a Data Center Technician with a mechanical and cooling focus, you will help maintain the infrastructure that keeps a data centre operating. Your work will cover large cooling installations, mechanical plant and general building maintenance. You will join an established team that is growing following the addition of a data hall.
You will work alongside technicians and specialist contractors, with daily coordination from the Technical Team Leader.
The site serves a telecommunications-sector client, and your work will contribute to safe, reliable operations across the facility and your tasks will include to:
Inspect and maintain cooling systems, mechanical plant and other building equipment.
Carry out planned preventive maintenance, readings and practical fault-finding.
Monitor Building Management System (BMS) alarms and investigate technical issues.
Coordinate specialist contractors and document completed work accurately.
- Follow safety procedures and carry out work within your competence and authorised scope.
This is a full-time, on-site role in Linköping. Working hours are 07:00–16:00, with no shift work and no on-call duties.
CBRE offers varied technical work at one site, structured onboarding, safety training and support from experienced colleagues. Relevant specialist training can be provided in line with site needs.
Is this you?
You have relevant technical training, an apprenticeship or equivalent practical competence, together with around 1–2 years of hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting experience. More experienced technicians are also welcome. Experience in cooling, refrigeration, HVAC or mechanical maintenance is an advantage, particularly work with process cooling, large installations or controls.
Previous data center experience is an advantage. You do not need to be a fully developed cooling specialist: relevant specialist skills can be developed through training and experience on site.
You need working English to understand instructions and communicate with colleagues and contractors; Swedish is an advantage. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, are required.
Your personal qualities matter. You are practical, curious and reliable, take safety seriously and follow through on your tasks. You enjoy sharing knowledge and are willing to work across disciplines. You know when to ask for support and keep clear records of your work.
Employment is subject to successful client site security screening. You will receive information about this during the recruitment process.
