Cost Value Engineer to Siemens

We are looking for Cost Value Engineer to Siemens newly formed Cost and Value engineering team. This team is responsible for the cost and value evaluation of all components and systems purchased for the business unit DG (Distributed Generation).

The Role
Cost Value Engineers ( CVE) work across the business unit to establish transparency in cost and value of products, systems and solutions and contribute with improvement proposals to “deliver value at lowest cost”. In addition, CVEs support in target costing, design to value, supply chain productivity improvement programs and negotiations. They apply various methods, for example Bottom- up Cost Calculation, Cost Scaling, Liner Performance Pricing, Requirements Management and Supplier Workshops.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Establish best cost and value position for purchased parts for DG products.
• Ensure cost transparency in production processes of procured parts and identify improvement potentials.
• Project leader for CVE sprints to develop, quantify and drive productivity improvement measures with a cross functional team.
• Guide engineering in design for manufacturing
• Support design decisions by quantifying related product costs
• Support procurement with target cost and cost breakdown in negotiations with suppliers.
• Work closely together with development, engineering and purchasing to set up and strive toward common strategic goals.

Work location is preferably in Finspång Sweden but Trollhättan can be an option. You will report to the Head of Cost Value Engineering of Power & Gas DG. You will be part of a global team of about 8 persons. You must have the ability to travel up to 25% of your time.

Experience, education and personality
You have an Engineering Degree Bachelor, Master or equivalent. We are looking for a candidate with minimum five years of experience in production, production engineering, Strategic Procurement, R &D technology expert or in design engineering with experience working alongside manufacturing. If you have experience of cost value engineering methods that is a strong merit.

Excellent skills in English, both oral and written, are essential to perform this work as part of a global company. Communication skills in Swedish is preferable.

We are looking for a person that has analytical skills with regards to product costs and the ability to analyze technical problems with a value- and product cost aware approach. You are used to work independently, in an organized and structured way, with many contact points both inside and outside of the organization.
